Mike is accountable for the overall performance of the Company and for the day-to-day running and management of the Company’s business developing and implementing the company’s strategic plan to offer a high standard of professional services to TUCO members and stakeholders.

Matt has been a Director of TUCO for almost four years and was made Chair of the TUCO board in September 2016. He is the driving public face of TUCO and responsible for Board management and company duties. Matt is Director of Catering, Hotel and Conference Services at The University of Reading.
Phil became the Vice-Chair of the TUCO board in September 2016, he joined the university sector in 2003 with over 24 years’ experience in the catering, hospitality and retail sector. As Director of Commercial Services, he is responsible for the commercially run units of Campus Services at the University of Cardiff. In 2014, Phil joined the Board to lead on Governance and assist in determining a research strategy.
Alan joined the University sector in 2011 after spending over 25 years working for various catering contract companies and in various operational positions, latterly as an Regional Business Manager and Exec board member. Alan is currently Deputy Director, Residential and Business Services, at the University of St Andrews where his role includes responsibility for student dining in their Nine catered halls, as well as all the retail and hospitality operations.
Amanda joined the Board in 2015 with areas of responsibility within Marketing and Communications. Amanda has a wealth of experience within the catering industry including work within contract catering, hotels, sport and the education sectors. Her current role is Operations Manager for University of Wolverhampton, covering all aspects of the catering, retail and conferencing operations across 4 campuses.
David joined the TUCO Board earlier this year, bringing with him 16 years of catering experience and an admirable food safety knowledge. Within TUCO, David’s remit is sustainability and he has also headed up the catering at Harper Adams University for seven years. In 2012, David received a Sustainable Business Catey Award.
Gavin is the General Manager at the University of Sheffield and bringing a wealth of knowledge and management experience to the TUCO Board. Gavin has achieved much success within the Hotel and Catering Sector, including over 25 years’ experience working directly within the HE sector. With a keen interest in craft skills and Innovation, Gavin aims to focus on how TUCO can help develop and share best practice from its member’ institutions; drawing on member expertise and the wider industry to look at new and improved ways of working.
Helen is Board representative of the Learning and Development Group. Its purpose is to support one of the company’s main aims of professional development for its members and their directly employed staff. Helen and the L&D team work to identify strategic training objectives which are of value, relevance and in demand, for the majority of members.
Julie is the Director of Accommodation & Hospitality Service at the University of Brighton. Qualified chef, and passionate advocate of the Industry. Awarded PGcert, member of the Women1st Top100 Club. Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality.
Shona Millar is Director of Catering at Durham University in north-east England and the newest member of the TUCO board. Having previously held roles such as Director of Operations for Marriott Hotels, Ms Millar brings with her exceptional Hospitality Industry experience, as well as a strong business background following completion of an MBA in 2014.
