Our company has been serving the catering trade since 1926. We are a family owned business which has thrived over the past 90 years by continuously providing our customers with the highest standards of quality and service at competitive prices. We are BRC and STS accredited, which demonstrates our quality management systems and standards meet the recognised and latest requirements of the food industry.
Our business is customer focused. We build relationships with our customers and recognise the importance of meeting their requirements and define our customer requirements by continually communicating with them. Customer retention is a critical aspect in our growth strategy and we recognise customer satisfaction is key to retaining customers. Some time ago, we added a new range of fine food products to augment the core products and eliminated products that didn't fit with our customers’ needs.
During the British growing season we source as much locally grown fresh produce as possible, and a minimum of 70% of our produce is bought during the English growing season from local accredited suppliers within a 30 mile radius. Our distribution centre is only 27 miles from the Vale of Evesham, where we have longstanding relationships with a number of growers and suppliers.
By buying local seasonal produce, we are not only looking after the environment but are supplying our customers produce at its freshest. Our Purchasing Director, Jeremy Wilkinson has 35 years’ experience as a buyer in the fresh produce industry and regularly visits suppliers and growers who are local to our depot. We buy from approved suppliers according to the criteria of BRC, CMI, LEAF MARQUE, STS or other nationally recognised third party accreditation.
At certain times of year (due to price, availability and quality) it is desirable to buy a percentage of our product range from overseas. We therefore have longstanding relationships with growers across Europe to augment this local supply (most significantly Holland, Spain and France).
We believe that our policy of maximising the availability of local produce is in the best interests of consumers, customers and the environment.
Our customers appreciate our high level of customer service, and value high standards of product availability and our bespoke prepared products, which are freshly made to order for next day delivery. We prepare the products to our customers’ exact requirements the night before it’s delivered, ensuring the freshest quality.
Monthly Newsletters & Flyers
We regularly speak to and visit our growers and suppliers, and obtain fresh produce updates. With this information E Sidwell produce a market report, which is communicated to our customers in way of a newsletter, which details what produce is in season, coming toward the end of its season, and other market information.
E Sidwell’s infrastructure has the capability of supporting the successful execution of growth. Within the last 2 years we have invested heavily in our business to ensure operational excellence. We have extended our warehouse and completely refrigerated it, including the pick area, to ensure the high quality of our products is maintained during pick and dispatch. This gives our customers the quality of products they come to expect from E Sidwell Ltd.
We run a modern fleet of refrigerated vehicles that are systematically maintained, ensuring they run efficiently. Our dedicated drivers are conscientious and willing to do the utmost to ensure your produce arrives in pristine condition.
