The 23rd British Food Fortnight, taking place at the traditional time for celebrating the harvest, has activities, promotions and fun events for everyone.

This annual event, embraced by communities, retailers, and the public sector alike, is a unique opportunity to highlight the diversity and quality of British food. The fortnight is supported by local communities as well as being backed by Morrisons, the Official Retail Partner, most of the major food service organisations and also the public sector meaning that schools, hospitals, universities and care homes join shops, pubs and restaurants in celebrating British food.  From food festivals to special school menus and national competitions, the event showcases the best of British food and the importance of making good food available for all. Leading food service organisations Aramark, OCS, Sodexo, Chartwells and Brakes are all participating with special promotions and events.

Events are taking place the length and breadth of the country. From New Covent Garden Market’s special British Food Fortnight breakfast; Brakes’ Foodie Expo in Welwyn Garden City giving British SMEs the opportunity to showcase their products; and communities coming out in force to celebrate their local food: from Warkworth village in Northumbria, to community owned pub, The Farriers Arm in Kent, from North to South!  Variety is the name of the game: Plymouth Seafood Trail; Best of British school lunch menus for thousands of schools; food festivals in Cumbria, Cheshire, Wales, Suffolk, Thame and Newbury; foodie exhibitions and talks, pop up shops at farm gates, tasting menus, quiz nights, foodie film nights, special menus and talks with local chefs, farmers and producers.

Love British Food founder, Alexia Robinson: “We are thrilled to see British Food Fortnight growing stronger each year. This celebration is about more than just food; it’s about community and sustainability."
