COP26 is a global United Nations summit about climate change and how countries are planning to address it. The UK is hosting the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 October – 12 November 2021. It will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. You can read more about COP26 here.
As COP26 is all about collaborative working, UKUPC (UK Universities Purchasing Consortia) is taking the opportunity to come together to tell you what COP26 means to its members, and what action our collective membership is taking. Over the next two weeks, we will bring you updates from COP26 as well as details from different UKUPC members of their planned activity in response to the climate emergency.
In the meantime, you can read this excellent article by Universities UK on how universities are addressing the climate and ecological emergency.
