Overview
George Anderson & Sons are a family run now in our 4th generation and operating for over 40 years. Being based in Macmerry, we are on the A1 giving ease-of-access to the Scottish Motorway Network. Customers are assured of the highest standards through our BRC Class A accreditation and annual external audit and documented HACCP procedures and compliance.
We pride ourselves in our quality of service and produce. Many of our customers have been with us for 30-40 years. We have a reputation in the industry for going the extra mile, so customers have what they need when they need it e.g. a same day delivery service
We have a long-standing team at George Anderson & Sons. For example, the Partners, Karen Robertson and Jacqueline Anderson have been working in the business for over 30 years. This gives us a personal touch and enthusiasm which permeates throughout the business and is often commented on by our customers. We take pride in our work, from warehouse staff through to delivery drivers through to our sales team.
As a current supplier on the TUCO framework, and a supplier to many further education establishments in Scotland, we understand the needs for universities and colleges and our experience and understanding means that we can provide the service they need.
We source locally wherever possible and have many suppliers in East Lothian and across Scotland. We provide information to our customers on seasonal produce which helps to plan menus and reduce food miles.
We have our own fleet of Euro VI lorries and vans, and use the Quartix system for vehicle tracking, route planning and vehicle maintenance ensuring that carbon emissions are minimised. We are working on a project to test the viability of hydrogen vehicles.
