Established in 1864, Matthew Algie is a family-owned business, ethically sourcing exceptional coffees from around the world and roasting them to perfection at our carbon neutral Glasgow roastery. Matthew Algie is the UK’s most innovative coffee roasters having kick-started the UK espresso revolution and introducing the UK’s first Fairtrade espresso and the world's first triple certified espresso. We source the finest coffees from producers who we know, and we roast the beans with great care to bring out their best aroma and flavour.
Matthew Algie sources, roasts and sells coffee across the UK & Ireland, along with supplying and maintaining top grade coffee equipment, with a nationwide team of directly employed, highly skilled service engineers to keep the coffee flowing. We also provide full product and equipment training through our dedicated training team.
From our own market-leading brands such as Smokin’ Bean and Peak & Wild to bespoke coffee for white label customers, we are known for our ethical approach to coffee sourcing, and our carbon neutral roastery and net zero 2040 ambition.
We also supply a wide range of café supplies, such as hot chocolate, syrups, alternative milks, tea, barista kit and crockery through our Espresso Warehouse brand, allowing our customers to present premium, seasonal drinks, which we can support with next generation brewing equipment and ‘Speciality Coffee Association’ accredited training courses.
We are proud to be a category partner to many Universities and Further Education customers and have a strong understanding of the sector particularly with regards to our product range, requisite training and standards management as well as equipment maintenance and servicing. Our local account managers are also on hand to provide market expertise, which is shaped to devise targeted strategies, at outlet level, to improve sales through improving customer loyalty, increasing spend and footfall to outlets.
