Overview
We are the specialist Catering Butchers Division of the MJ Birtwistle & Co Food Group. We deliver quality meat to customers across the length and breadth of the UK, 365 days a year. We do this from our sites in Manchester, Milton Keynes and Glasgow. Over recent years we’ve invested in a rapid expansion strategy, which allows us to deliver a more flexible and reliable service to customers nationally.
We serve all sectors of the food service industry ranging from hotels and restaurants to universities, schools and events. Our product range of over 6,000 SKUs covers all species: beef, lamb, pork, gammon, bacon, sausage, poultry and charcuterie.
Birtwistles started life as a family butchers over 100 years ago. In 2003 MJ Birtwistle & Co Ltd was established, since then the change has been dramatic; growing to 8 sites across the UK, and expanding the customer base from Regional to National. A new owner in 2011 has brought new investment, expertise and experience to the company.
