Overview
Founded by William Reynolds in 1945, Reynolds has long been at the forefront of the UK fresh produce industry. Today, third generation greengrocer, Tony Reynolds, leads a dynamic and passionate team of fresh produce and logistics experts. Reynolds is now able to offer fresh fish and seafood through their specialist fishmonger, Shoal.
Shoal has a different approach to sourcing, packaging and delivering products which result in a transparent, shortened and more efficient supply chain than the traditional seafood catering suppliers.
We single source each species and contract prices for longer periods than is usual in the seafood sector, enabling us to offer long term pricing on all species.
Products are packed in leak proof, taint proof packaging at source to enable us to deliver our fish and seafood alongside other food categories within Reynolds’ supply chain, which enables us to reduce our overall carbon footprint by maximising delivery volume to each of our customers.
We have a constant programme of sourcing as many of our products from the UK as possible, and we work closely with our customers to influence menu choices around UK seasonal fish. For example, we have moved our crab products from Indonesia to Devon, and our mussels from Holland to Scotland.
As products are packaged, branded and labelled at source, we do not re-process or re-pack any of our fish and seafood. Our products are labelled with the primary processors branding, promoting full traceability of the supply chain and we actively encourage a seamless relationship between our customers and the primary producers and processors.
Our customer experience is simplified because ordering, invoicing and delivery is via Reynolds.
